Pulled Turkey and Mashed Potatoes. Comfort on a plate. Fall off the bone turkey neck on a fluffy cloud of cheesy garlic mashed potatoes. A taste of heaven with every bite. It reminds me of a simple meal that soothes the soul. Very flavourful, savory and filling. The flavour of turkey neck is unlike the other popular parts of the turkey. It’s downright yummy.

How to make pulled Turkey & Cheesy Garlic Mashed Potatoes?

The cook time is a little long and there are more steps to take but it’s definitely worth the wait and effort. In this instance pulled Turkey is referring to pulling the meat off the turkey neck so it’s boneless. A lot of meats with bone in are really flavourful but can be challenging to eat. Who wouldn’t prefer meat that falls right off the bone? It cuts half the work when eating which leaves more time to savour your meal.

To make this recipe you should have a pressure cooker, it cuts the cook time significantly. If you don’t have a pressure cooker not to worry, you’ll just have to take it the long way. Well seasoned turkey neck. I seasoned mine and froze it for a week however, you can let it marinate for a couple of hours or overnight. Medium to large size Irish potatoes, washed, peeled and diced. Let’s not forget the cheese and garlic. I used an Italian blend of shredded cheese that has mozzarella and provolone and it creates the prefect stringy and sticky goodness in your mashed potatoes. You can use fresh garlic however I opted for garlic powder. This allows me to still get the flavour without overpowering the taste of the potatoes.

Once you’ve made this recipe, take a moment to relax, have a nice drink, sit and enjoy your meal. You deserve it. Let’s get cooking.
